    At the heart of an Arolla home or building is the Arolla Home Concept, a suite of architectural principles created to bring people together through a pivotal, multi-purpose core space: the Arolla ÁGORA.

    The Agora is the environment's centre-point around which clients can shape their unique wishes and meet their individual needs in beautiful, sustainable, and intuitive ways. .

  • Elegantly fast

    With a streamlined design and production process, based entirely on state-of-the-art Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) elements, an Arolla home or building flows directly from the architects’ drawings to the factory cutting machines. Our real time 3D modelling and automated labelling of all building elements ensures that it will take the Arolla team only weeks to complete your move-in ready construction.

  • Quality Engineered

    At Arolla, 90% of the elements of any home or building are created at our own factory, where we control the quality of every detail of the CLT panels and every aspect of building design. All windows and door openings, cable and pipe cavities, as well as moulds for plugs and our pre-installed, proprietary heating and cooling system are cut to size on state-of-the-art machines, ensuring there is a seamless fit and on-time assembly when they arrive at your chosen construction site.

    At Arolla, we aim for longevity and sustainability, which is why we control every step of the process — and oversee every member of the team, from the person who plants the tree to the one who builds the pool. The Arolla Company

The history of Arolla begins years before its actual start-up, in a world where 36% of all the CO2 emissions come from the building industry, and in which sustainability is only partially possible (if at all) during the various stages of materials extraction production and construction.

It was in this context that Dr Gerd Jakob, a German entrepreneur living in Portugal, realised he needed to find a way to build a truly — provably and measurably — sustainable home. Dr Jakob's work had long been focused on reshaping traditional industries into ecologically and socially sustainable businesses. Thus, a vision was born:  the Arolla Project, a start-up aiming to create spaces without leaving traces and to change the status quo of the construction industry's commitment to sustainability.
